Updates for our calculator apps are coming (we promise)

Over the past 3 months we have been working on improving our calculator apps for the Storm 8 games and had intended to have the update available mid March. Unfortunately we have not been able to meet this deadline of a complete restructuring of the system and we would like to explain why and what the upcoming plans are for the apps.

Hector Hurst’s new website

Hector Hurst’s new website is now live! We’ve created a brand new website design for our GTX World sponsored driver Hector Hurst. Hector competes in the FIA Formula 2 championship and boasts the GTX World logo.

The series is already 3 tracks into the 8 track championship and Hector has been in the top 10 for all but one of the six rounds. A great achievement in his debut year of international racing in the fiercely competitive class which boasts 20 drivers in identical cars.

Why so native?

I thought I’d take this time to talk to you about our feelings behind native applications and what we like/dislike about them.

GTX World has been creating iPhone apps for just over a year now and during this time we have all learnt a lot, not just about Objective C but about the foundations of iOS (the system powering iPhones, iPods, iPads and Apple TVs) and what makes native iOS applications just so good!

Everyone knows how expensive motorsport can be, especially as you progress up the ladder. We’re helping to show our support to British racing driver Hector Hurst who will be competing his maiden international car racing debut in the FIA Formula 2 2012 championship.

We will be providing Hector with a nice up-to-date website that meets his needs for 2012. At this level of motorsport sponsorship pays a key part to his success so part of the aim of this new website will be to provide him an improved channel to obtain sponsors. It will also provide viewers with the ability to see his latest media and news so that his fans can keep track of his progress.

For 2012 Hector will also be posting a monthly blog which will be available on his website and also via The Checkered Flag, a leading motorsport news website.

iMobsters Property Calculator v3.0 live!

Our iMobsters Property Calculator app has reached v3.0 and is now available on the AppStore. We’re excited to reveal this update because it is a huge improvement from the previous versions; using a lot less internet bandwidth and thus thousands of times quicker! It’s a much nicer system to use and for us to maintain. It’s now 100% native, the only thing the internet is used for is to download & upload plain text and download images to the device.

We like it, and we hope you do too!! Shortened AppStore link: http://gtx.im/imc

Update: some users are experiencing some small difficulties with managing properties. This should be fixed in v3.0.1 which has already been uploaded to the AppStore. It also fixes a major bug for iOS4 users who couldn’t access the “Equipment” screen.

Storm8 Calculator apps getting their updates

After many weeks of hard work, our Storm8 (iMobsters, World War & Racing Live) Calculators are ready for our exciting new update. We’ve worked harder to bring you an even better solution to help you in your game.

v3.0 is dramatically faster thanks to the new framework we have implemented server-side. Now, instead of just showing a server-side version of your data through web views we copy across a local version of the data so calculations (such as ROI sorting) are done directly on your device, making the sorting instant! As a result you don’t have to keep downloading the same data thus saving your internet allowance and making everything so much simpler!

v3.0 also features “Pull To Reload” on all the tables of data. For ROI in the calculator page this re-sorts the data by ROI, but for everything else it re-downloads the data from the server.

Auto Calculator (Tell Me) has also been dramatically improved in v3.0. It’s much faster, much more reliable and it now automatically updates the calculator page when “Apply to Account” is pressed. It simultaneously pushes the changes to the server so the server is in sync too!

As well as these great new improvements, there are several other improvements to help make your experience much better and our ability to support you much better!

Best of all, Version 3.0 is free for all existing users of our individual apps! We will keep you informed on their release date, but why not buy them now at http://gtx.im/imc (iMobsters Property Calculator), http://gtx.im/wwc (World War Calculator), http://gtx.im/rl (Racing Live Property Calculator)

We hope you enjoy these updates, and stay tuned for the World War Calculator update!

KC Furniture’s new e-commerce website

KC Furniture is a new venture that racing star Kieren Clark has setup. As the name suggests , he sells furniture. The website was created so that Kieren could show off his products to people who wanted to know what he had to offer. By making it freely available on a website it means that he no longer has to spend time emailing people back with individual pictures – they can just find out all the products from his kcfurniture.co.uk website.

New site for 2012

Say hello to our new website for 2012!

After a lot of hard work during the Christmas period, we have put in a lot of effort to revamp our website. The new website is a big improvement from the old one and it offers better and more useful information about our work and the services we can offer our clients.

It features a completely new design based on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and has some XML data driven features. We have our latest blog and Twitter posts at the bottom of the homepage so you can quickly see what’s new with GTX World. As you can tell this site focuses more on news and updates thank to the Twitter and our custom designed blog.

It’s a nice step forward as the old website started to become outdated and we feel it helps show our clients what we can do for them!

One of the key benefits of the new website is the new portfolio pages with the gallery viewing for each of the projects. This shows clear information about our portfolio and gives users an idea to what services we can do for our clients and how well we do them! You no longer have to just believe us when we say our work is good…you can hear what our customers have to say too!

We hope you all enjoy the new website and a Happy New year to our clients and future clients!
